7 days of Smoothie Bowls // Vegan

Smoothie bowls are my ultimate breakfast obsession come summer. Essentially it is how it sounds, a smoothie in a bowl with lots of yummy toppings, bursting with flavour. However, the smoothie is thicker- more like ice-cream- so it’s more edible over drinking it. Smoothie bowls are super easy and quick giving you a healthy nutritious energy boost to start the day or you can make a smaller portion for a perfect snack in the afternoon. Moreover, there are countless combinations to make an infinite amount of flavours. Here are my top seven, for every day of the week…

Monday Bluesberry

We all know how hard it can be to get going first thing on a Monday morning. Therefore, you need something that’s going to kick start your metabolism and full of energy boosting ingredients. This is the prefect smoothie bowl for the job, with lots of carbohydrates your healthy dose of omega 3 and  healthy fat to keep you fuller for longer.

Ingredients

● 80g frozen Blueberries

● 2 frozen bananas

● 50ml Almond Milk

● 3 medjool dates

● 20g rolled oats

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings.

Toppings

● Blueberries

● 30g granola / oats

● Desiccated coconut

● 1 tablespoon chia seed

Choccy Cherry Tuesday

You’ve survived monday, so a little reward and celebration is in order. This dark cherry bowl will you have you in awe and the chocolate sauce is the perfect candidate for that well deserved celebration.

Ingredients

●80g of frozen pitted cherries

●1 frozen banana

●150ml hazelnut milk

●1 tbsp of vanilla essence

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings.

Toppings

● 1 tbsp of desiccated coconut

● 1 tbsp vanilla soy yoghurt (I use Alpro)

● Handful of frozen cherries

● 1 tbsp fruit syrup ( can substitute with agave nectar) and 1 tsp cocoa powder. Mix until combined to create a chocolate sauce. Thin out with milk or water if you don’t like the thick consistency.

Wake me up Wednesday

The smoothie bowl to get you over that hump day and keep you going for the second half of the week.

Ingredients

● 1 frozen banana

● 1 Kiwi

● 20g Kale

● 1/2 avocado

● 1 teaspoon matcha powder

● 1 tablespoon agave nectar

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings.

Toppings

● Frozen mango and pineapple

● 1 tablespoon whole almonds

● 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds

● Sprinkle of cinnamon

Mango Tango Thursday

Thursday is basically just Friday. Jr right? Therefore, it’s time to wind down for the weekend and what better way than add a bit of jazz to your breakfast?

Ingredients

● 80g of frozen Mango

● 1 frozen banana

● 120ml coconut milk

● 30g fresh pineapple

● 1 tbsp of lime juice

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings.

Toppings

● 1 tbsp of desiccated coconut

● 1 tbsp vanilla soy yoghurt (I use Alpro)

● Handful of frozen mango and pineapple

● Melon balls

● 1 tsp fruit syrup ( can substitute with agave nectar)

Black Friday

This smoothie bowl is really just me trying to be clever with my titles and food choices. So let’s just throw together all the black and dark fruits that I have on hand, decorate with some equally dark healthy toppings and call it a day.

Ingredients

● 50g Blackberries

● 20g blueberries

● 100ml oat milk

Monin violet syrup

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings

Toppings

5 Chilli Plum balls

● 1 tablespoon Almond flakes

● Handful of Blackcurrants

Sultry Strawberry Saturday

Strawberries are known as the ‘sexy’ fruit and Saturdays are more commonly known as the hangover days, right? So whilst you’re nursing that headache, you want to be feeling just as attractive than when you left the house last night. Strawberries are also full of vitamin c- the nutrient needed to cure a hangover, so this smoothie bowl is your saviour.

Ingredients

● 80g Strawberries

● 1 frozen banana

● 100ml Cashew milk

Monin Strawberry syrup

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings

Toppings

● Strawberries

● 1 tsp sesame seeds

● 1 banana

 Cocoa Crunch Sunday

There are two kinds of people; the ones that love sundays in all it’s lazy glory and then there are the ones that are just sat there waiting on the thought of how it’s Monday tomorrow. Whichever category you fall in, I think we can all agree that they both require a treat. So basically, chocolate, chocolate and umm…. more chocolate!

Ingredients

● 2 frozen bananas

● 150ml almond milk (unsweetened)

●1 tablespoons (10g) of raw cacao powder

● 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

● 4 dates, pitted

Method

Combine all ingredients in a blender, pour into a bowl and decorate with toppings.

Toppings

● 1 tbsp Cocoa Nibs

Cocoa coffee balls

● Vanilla soy yoghurt ( I use Alpro)

● 1 tbsp desiccated coconut
